who are we?

why?
Sometimes people need a push. No matter where. In countries like Portugal (our home country), young people are struggling with a serious unemployment problem and others with poverty, but in countries like India, besides poverty there are other problems such as serious gender equality issues: so many issues that are delaying people’s lives. But everyone has qualities, skills and passions. They just need a push! The same applies to organizations. A large percentage of NGO ‘s, mainly in developing countries, despite having strong capacity, goals, funds and motivated teams, they suffer from basic structural failures that prevent them to achieve the desired impact in the community they are willing and can achieve.
SAPANA is focused on facing and correcting these failures, giving basic tools on economics, social, interpersonal, management and sustainability areas. Both for people and for social organizations.
Additionally, women can in fact be the development force of a community. And due to social and cultural issues, they are stuck in unfair roles and completely inaccurate of their potential. SAPANA, through a focus on raising awareness and on gender equality, intends to fight this reality through training and empowerment practices with results on financial sustainability and social dignity of women.
